What if our tongue are made of glass which is very fragile, will we be more careful to use it? Would we be more fearful that it may break and the first one that will get wounded is ourselves before we spit it out and hurt anybody else? In this world there is no perfect life, and perfect person. Our family and friends will never be perfect. We all have our flaws and weaknesses and every human beings will have there down side. We will always find wrongs among other people that is for sure, but you see my friend you are the same thing. People will also see something wrong with you. So if you will try to think about it what if before we speak out anything we try to tell the exact words to ourselves? How will that sound? If in any case you got hurt maybe you will think twice before you slip the words from your mouth. Words that we have spoken are like feathers that once blown by the wind we can never take it back. The bible says in proverbs 12:18, "The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing." Words hurt more than physical wound because physical wound stays only in the outside and once healed there will be no more pain while harsh words will cut through the inside and it will stay there within, we never know how long. We always have a choice, we can always choose whether to bring healing and encouragement and life or pain to the people around us. And the sad part in this cases, mostly the people that we hurt with the misused words are the people we love and close into our hearts. The saddest part is that when we slip those words out then we realized afterwards, the person that get hurt the most is US! We are all guilty of this, and it is never easy to control our silly tongue but then let the peace and love of God always prevail. Guard your mind and heart in that way you can also guard your tongue. In any case that we failed to hold our tongue and it slipped, always remember to forgive yourself and apologize. God will forgive us and will always love us, but let's try our best to love others, understand each others lackness and weaknesses like how God want it. |
