Galatians 1:18-24
Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter,[a] and remained with him fifteen days. 19 But I saw none of the other apostles except James, the Lord’s brother. 20 (Now concerning the things which I write to you, indeed, before God, I do not lie.) 21 Afterward I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia. 22 And I was unknown by face to the churches of Judea which were in Christ. 23 But they were hearing only, “He who formerly persecuted us now preaches the faith which he once tried to destroy.” 24 And they glorified God in me. So, I start my journey back on this wonderful epistles of Paul to the Galatians. Unsurprisingly surprising that I will witness once again how the bible speaks to us in different ways no matter how many times you have read it. Here I see Paul again, so faithful to his calling. He seems tired-proof (my own term, no need to search for google😂) in serving God. He moves from different places to another, I admire his deligence and obedience so much and he truly inspires me in many ways but what he said in the end of chapter 1 really pinch my heart. He is like an unknown missionary preaching to the people. All they know about him was "HE IS THE BAD GUY BEFORE WHO TURNED GOOD". I'm amazed of how many of them truly witness ed Gods power through Paul's life. They were convinced and convicted not by words alone but of the transformation they have seen in Paul. I feel like when all of them saw Paul preaching that time they are saying in themselves, "The change in him must be Really By Gods Power Alone." How many of you turned to God because you have seen people close to you, enemies before, loved ones, family members or simple strangers you always passed by that changed radically after meeting Christ personally? How many of you has been touched by peoples' transformation just to be with God. Paul was no exemption, we are all sinners who are continually being transformed by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Today I pray that like Paul, we will never listen on this world shout of who we used to be, who we are in the flesh and who we are in other peoples' eyes but who we are in Christ, who we are in the eyes of God. May we continue to grow in faith, that no matter what, we will stand firm to defend the Gospel by living it out in our own life despite of the pressure of this world to turn us back to who we used be before we met Christ. Good morning.😊😊😊 Have a continious transformed life ahead... |
