I was truly blessed with the preaching earlier in the church. My heart goes for the little ones. Like what Jesus said: 13Then little children were brought to him for him to lay his hands on them and pray. But the disciples scolded those who brought them. 14 But Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me and do not try to stop them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." (Matt. 19:13-14) There is something special about children. They do capture my heart so dearly because in their innocent years of existence they can teach me a lot on how i should live my life as an adult. This line has always been famous: "have a childlike faith!" But do we really understand the concept of it? Childlike faith is a faith with full dependance on God, with full trust of the circustances in the hands of our Father. I have learned a lot from them more than me teaching them. I saw how children enjoy their lives in full simplicy, with full of joy beyond the fact that they have been abandoned by their parents when i went to Vietnam to spent time with the kids there. I saw the genuine and passionate service and worship of kids in Isabela philippines. They have taught me to be a true worshipper. I have found pure love in the kids in cambodia where in most of them are abandoned, harassed and bruised by their loved ones and the world but i saw how forgiving they are that made me question myself: "how can i hate so easily when this children here have gone through much more pain than me but still able to love each other in the orphanage and worship God like there is no stain of hate in their hearts." I have witnessed that eagerness to learn and celebrate christmas with full joy with the kids in batam. They have shown me so much about God's grace, love and mercy more than any adult i have been with. And you will be surprise how much wisdom you can pick up with these little ones. Since i am writing this write up, i figured i need to share one thing that was said in one preaching of Pastor Mike Reeds: "You will be surprise with the wisdom you can get from these children, there was this 8 year old child, one of many i have interviewed in the church to get wisdom over adult issues of today. I asked: When is the best time to kiss? An 8 year old kid answered: When you are already rich! So i asked why. He answered because if you will kiss someone that would mean you will already marry him or her, so before you marry someone you must have enough money by then to get married." What a profound wisdom isn't it? Funny, but true in a biblical context and you just heard that from an 8 year old kid. Kids today is our next generation of Faithful Christians, Prayer Warriors and Preachers and Evangelist. We must take heart and take part on their mouldings in their Christian walk. We must make sure of their future. Have you been doing your part in bringing up these children in the right perspective of being a Follower of Christ? Remember! They are WATCHING!!!! |
