When I was sick last wednesday and I stayed home we watched the book of Daniel and Esther. There is one stong thing that I really noticed. They have all been obedient to the kings of different generations of different time and Nations that have conquered their lands. Both Daniel and Mordecai honoured the authority given to the kings as their way of honouring God. I was so amazed in the faith of Daniel for really obeying God though it will cause him 70 years of waiting and obedience to the king of the foreign land. He hold on to the promise of God through the letter of prophet Jeremiah which I was trying to read again this morning in the book of Jeremiah. I was so surprised that it was just the verse before the most popular verse in the book of Jeremiah. In Jeremiah 29:10 10 This is what the LORD says: “When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to this place. Daniel and his friends really served the kings with full obedience and humility and truth so as Mordecai. They both have said that as God commanded they should serve the kings who are in authority but time will come that He will free them. I was reminded and moved by this act of obedience from them. I suddenly realized our own status in our workplaces. In the lifetime of Mordecai He remain faithful and taught Esther well, in the movie this verse has always been quoted in addition, Ecclesiastes 3:7b "There is a time to be silent and a time to speak." (During their presentation of Mordecai raising Esther.) This verse repeatively mentioned as for those days their honour for sabbath was not given to them and In relation to what is to come, when finally Jews generation are in harm, Esther 4:13-14English Standard Version (ESV)13 Then Mordecai told them to reply to Esther, “Do not think to yourself that in the king's palace you will escape any more than all the other Jews. 14 For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Both of the stories showed obedience of the best way they can to the rulers of this earth as their act of obedience to God. Both stories shows the character of waiting for the right time to speak and act or do nothing but be silent and obey. Both stories made me thinking of how I should react somday when I will be put in the same position. Both stories made their obedience and faithfulness upon the rulers as their way to show the great mercy and power of God to the rulers. They have shown their faithfulness to show how good is their God. But both stories showed courage from them once they were tested in WORSHIPPING the king and their Gods and praying to them over the God of Israel. That is a complete different case that was both brought by trick by the wicked people in the story. I was again reminded, in those lines, what if the king commanded this and God commanded the other way which one will you obey? How about you? There is always time for everything. Rulers are put in authority for such a reason and such time and we must obey them by all means but nevertheless obedience to God is much more important. 😊😊😊🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 He is the God Almighty. The beginning and the end. 🙏🏻 |
