Ok. I saw my post back in Oct 2nd of 2016 and I actually said about sharing a certain photograph from my Trip in Pemba Mozambique Africa that “the Album might take a while so I will just share some photos randomly”, 4 years later I still have not uploaded the album, haha. Well, you can’t blame me, I got thousands of photos from that trip and I really don’t know where to begin my posts with. Plus, after my trip in Mozambique I really had a hard time settling back in Singapore. Like what they said in our debriefing after graduation it will take a while to adjust back in. While trying to settle in I faced back home the responsibilities that I’ve left in the Church. Then after that trying to settle back and go on with the responsibilities that I have, I began to get that call from God to go outside Singapore. Imagine the feeling of you still in the process of trying to get your head back in your normally daily life after such a life changing trip then God is already stirring your heart up, gearing you to move out and be somewhere else? What an absolutely indescribable and tormenting feeling and you only got you and God to figure all that out. How am I supposed to share my memories and learning from the trip with that condition? Not possible at all. I can’t even process all my emotions back then. So, time passed by, God really moved me out from Singapore and I have to process loads of emotion along the way and life goes on. So now, with the ample of time I got because of the pandemic, I would like to take you all back, all the way to my life changing trip in Pemba Mozambique Africa in 2016.
Are you ready? Here we go! So, I decided I’ll start with my arrival journey...:) From Singapore I flew a total of 11 hrs to get to Johannesburg South Africa. Like the usual I don’t sleep in the plane, so I got to watch a couple of movies again on the way. I travelled via Singapore Airlines (https://www.singaporeair.com/en_UK/ph/home#/book/bookflight), they have a good service. I have a little trivia about my flying. I have this travel bucketlist of trying to fly different flag carrier airlines to get to experience their services and just compare it and take the pleasure of getting serve by them. That’s one form of pleasure I want to experience while on board. Yup! I do have that thing! Now you knew it! I’ll write a blog about it some other time. So, let’s get back on my arrival journey. I landed in Johannesburg TAMBO Airport; fabulous SG Airlines they did a point to point pick up for my baggage since I do not have a visa for South Africa, super hassle free. Spent a couple of hours going around the airport, went to the designated lounge for my next flight and It was an amazing experience. I didn’t expect that actually. Then went on to my next destination à Maputo Mozambique. I flew via LAM (https://www.lam.co.mz/en) Mozambique Flag carrier. Oww my gosh, they got good food on board. It was another over an hour flight to get to Maputo Mozambique from Johannesburg and took a domestic flight from Maputo to Pemba Mozambique of the same airline with good food again. Thank you Lord! Then I finally arrived to Pemba Airport unknowingly with bunch of other mission students as well. All my luggage arrived safely, Thank God! I heard heaps of stories of lost baggage from my fellow missionary students. Then they picked us up and drove us to the school quarter. Settled in. Then one of my room mates orient me and showed me around! Thank you Katie! You’re the best! I got to witness the amazing sunset of Africa on my first day! What an amazing day to start my journey in Africa! And there it is! I finally arrived to my destination and it was 180 degrees turn from my bit of over the top journey to get there and I can already imagine the days to come, far away from the comfort of life and I am very excited about it! Bring it On! Thank you for reading and see yah on the next page of my JOURNEY ALL THE WAY BACK TO AFRICA! God bless you! |
