I hope we get what Paul is trying to say. I hope we will open our hearts to what James also have spoken. We are supposed to be a bond servants of God not of men. Jesus asked, "why do you call me Lord if you don't obey what I say?" Being a bond servant of the Lord as what the apostles proclaimed means we don't have the rights but only priviledges. If we have a mindset that we are SERVING the Lord almighty and not just any man under the heaven, serving will not be so hard. We don't serve For the leaders but God ordered that we should Honor the authority given by Him to the appointed men on earth. Even the leaders and those who are in authority are Bondservants of the Lord. We are all here to serve and not to be served. We are all here, called for a great purpose and that is to proclaim the Gospel of Lord Jesus Christ. Many churches got divided because of different points of view of the people or because of the head of the churches wherein there is only one head of the Church, That is God! Today I seek for all of us to dig deep in our hearts. Search, and find who is in the center? Is it Jesus or the people around you? Your family? Or you? Think about it.1 Corinthians 1:10-17A Church Divided Over Leaders10 I appeal to you, brothers and sisters,[a] in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought. 11 My brothers and sisters, some from Chloe’s household have informed me that there are quarrels among you. 12 What I mean is this: One of you says, “I follow Paul”;another, “I follow Apollos”; another, “I follow Cephas[b]”; still another, “I follow Christ.”
13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul? 14 I thank God that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius,15 so no one can say that you were baptized in my name. 16 (Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I don’t remember if I baptized anyone else.)17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel—not with wisdom and eloquence, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. |
